Over several decades, the principals of The Crescent Group have acquired land and developed housing throughout some of the most desired locations in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Louisiana.The Crescent Group has experience in the complexities of land entitlement, land use, and re-zoning.
Roger A. Glover, III, Principal of The Crescent Group, LLC, has been involved in real estate development for over 30 years. After beginning his career with prominent national real estate companies Trammel Crow and Childress-Klein, he started his own company developing retail shopping centers and residential subdivisions, including the development of 15 commercial retail centers, and four residential subdivisions in Virginia and North Carolina. Mr. Glover, through his multiple development and building entities, has developed 16 communities in Virginia, Tennessee, Louisiana and North Carolina, with more than 1500 condominium homes built or to be built since 1998. All combined, he has been directly involved on a managerial or ownership basis in over $500 million of real estate development
Mr. Glover received a bachelor’s degree from Hampden Sydney College. He attended T.C. Williams Law School and E. Claiborne Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond where he obtained a law degree and a master’s in business administration. As a nationally recognized expert on designing, developing and building communities for the 55-plus market segment, Mr. Glover was a featured speaker at the 2016 and 2017 International Builders’ Shows.
Mitchell Bode, Vice President, brings over 12 years of residential real estate development experience to The Crescent Group, most recently as the Director of Land Acquisition & Development with Stylecraft Homes. He was involved in the development of multiple communities in Richmond, including Avington, the Townes at Pouncey Place, the Villas at Rose Hill, the Villas at Archer Springs, and Three Notch Place. Mr. Bode started his residential land development career at Wilton Development Corporation, serving in multiple capacities. Overall, he has directly managed the entitlement and development of 22 residential projects totaling more than 2,500 lots and $150 million in total cost. Mr. Bode will direct the land development of current and future Cornerstone Homes communities, as well as expand development services for other landowners and builders.
Mr. Bode obtained his bachelor’s degree in political science from Virginia Tech. He obtained a post-baccalaureate graduate certificate in business administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, as well as an MBA from Liberty University. Mr. Bode is a member of the Board of Directors for the Home Builders Association of Virginia, and also serves on the Legislative Committee. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors, serving on the Executive and Legislature Committees for the local HBA of Richmond.
Michael Farmer, Site Development Manager, brings a proven record of 40 years in land development, building construction, and site preparation. Since 1975, Mr. Farmer has been a project manager for various contractor firms in the Richmond metro and Lynchburg areas. He has developed over 2,000 lots/homes in residential projects, and as a site contractor, managed over 25 projects, overseeing up to 150 employees. Mr. Farmer has a keen understanding of developing feasibility studies, preparation of budgets and schedules, and working with county representatives, property owners, and contractors.
Prior to joining The Crescent Group, Mr. Farmer was with Atack Properties in Glen Allen, serving in the roles of VP of Construction and Senior Project Manager for 14 years, managing commercial and residential projects. Prior to that, he was VP and Principal of Commonwealth Constructors in Ashland.
