Over several decades, the principals of The Crescent Group have acquired land and developed housing throughout some of the most desired locations in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Louisiana.The Crescent Group has experience in the complexities of land entitlement, land use, and re-zoning.
Roger A. Glover, III, Principal of The Crescent Group, LLC, has been involved in real estate development for over 30 years. After beginning his career with prominent national real estate companies Trammel Crow and Childress-Klein, he started his own company developing retail shopping centers and residential subdivisions, including the development of 15 commercial retail centers, and four residential subdivisions in Virginia and North Carolina. Mr. Glover, through his multiple development and building entities, has developed 16 communities in Virginia, Tennessee, Louisiana and North Carolina, with more than 1500 condominium homes built or to be built since 1998. All combined, he has been directly involved on a managerial or ownership basis in over $500 million of real estate development
Mr. Glover received a bachelor’s degree from Hampden Sydney College. He attended T.C. Williams Law School and E. Claiborne Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond where he obtained a law degree and a master’s in business administration. As a nationally recognized expert on designing, developing and building communities for the 55-plus market segment, Mr. Glover was a featured speaker at the 2016 and 2017 International Builders’ Shows.
Mike Lang has 25 years of experience in the banking and real estate development industries. Mike began his career in commercial lending, with 19 years of experience in financing business operations and real estate development at Wachovia Bank (predecessor to Wells Fargo) and Meridian Bank. He led land acquisition and development efforts at Meridian Land Company, a subsidiary of United Properties, part of the Pohlad Family Companies. There, Mike was involved in multiple projects, through the acquisition, entitlement, financing and development of communities throughout the state of Virginia, including Garrison Manor, The Townes at Wistar Woods and Westport at Ford’s Colony. At NVR / Ryan Homes, Mike was a Land Manager responsible for land acquisition in the Richmond region for the top 5 national homebuilder. Prior to joining The Crescent Group, Mike managed the financing of land development and vertical construction of residential and commercial projects throughout Virginia for BB&T’s Commercial Real Estate division. Mike obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce.
Michael Farmer, Site Development Manager, brings a proven record of 40 years in land development, building construction, and site preparation. Since 1975, Mr. Farmer has been a project manager for various contractor firms in the Richmond metro and Lynchburg areas. He has developed over 2,000 lots/homes in residential projects, and as a site contractor, managed over 25 projects, overseeing up to 150 employees. Mr. Farmer has a keen understanding of developing feasibility studies, preparation of budgets and schedules, and working with county representatives, property owners, and contractors.
Prior to joining The Crescent Group, Mr. Farmer was with Atack Properties in Glen Allen, serving in the roles of VP of Construction and Senior Project Manager for 14 years, managing commercial and residential projects. Prior to that, he was VP and Principal of Commonwealth Constructors in Ashland.
Wes Patterson, Project Manager, brings over 10 years of land development, building construction and business development to The Crescent Group. Wes has served in various project management roles including as an onsite owner’s REP for a mixed use and retail developer in Pittsburgh, PA and development and construction manager for an international grocer helping oversee and execute its initial US expansion. His most recent role was developing new business opportunities, maintaining existing client relationships, and managing the pursuit and preconstruction efforts for an ENR Top Mid-Atlantic Contractor. Wes is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in both Economics and German.
Kristin Glover, Director of Amenity Design & Installation, coordinates the design of all community amenities with architects, engineers, and contractors and oversees installation of all amenities which include community clubhouses, pools, walking trails, pocket parks, dog parks, and community gardens. Kristin brings 5 + years experience as a Project Engineer with Whiting-Turner Contracting Company and a experience as a Project Manager with Stonewall Construction. Kristin graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Math.
Matt Glover, Assistant Project Manager, coordinates the installation of all community amenities and landscaping of all common areas of new communities. Matt, a recent graduate of the University of Georgia, worked as the Fundraising Director for the UGA Red Cross and in guest services at the UGA Hotel while attending college. He also served as an environmental underwriting intern with Crum and Forster. Matt attended the University of Georgia and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management and Economics.
Suzanne Copley, Controller, manages all accounting procedures, financial reporting and compliance for The Crescent Group as well as financial management of all commercial properties. Suzanne has over 20 years experience as Controller with Cornerstone Homes, a builder and developer of active adult communities as well as 10 years accounting experience in residential real estate.
Michelle Newcomb, Property Manager, works closely with the project managers and amenities team to transition communities from the developer to the various associations. She is also responsible for managing the Tenant/Owner relationships and facilities for our commercial properties. Michelle brings over 12 years of experience in the Banking Industry as Project Manager.
Lisa Hoover, Accounting Assistant, assists with processing accounts payable and receivables, maintaining communications with all outside vendors, coordinates all land development contracts, and manages day to day operations of the office staff. Lisa has a background in property management and new home sales.
